1. Zoom in
First, Zoom in, by clicking on the job location marker. This will get you to the street level zoom.
At this zoom level you will see the road/street’s name nearby the marker. This is your first hint of the job location whereabouts.
2. Drag and Drop Pegman
Drag Pegman to any positions at the closest road to the marker. Roads with Street View imagery will appear with a blue border.
Notice the green shade with dotted border under Pegman, it means it still finding the best possible position to land the Pegman. The shade will become solid green when it finds the right position. That’s when you release your mouse drag, and drop it. You should see the street view of the job location at that exact time.
3. Navigating In Street View
Rotate
• use the wheel in the control panel in the top left corner.
• or use the left and right arrows on your keyboard
• or click and drag with your mouse.
Walk
• click on one of the white arrows overlaid on the street.
• or use the up and down arrows on your keyboard.
Tips: Use both Rotate and Walk navigation, to locate and get to closest position of the marker, as that’s where the job location is. You should also see an address at the top of the map. There is currently one full-time vacancy – 40 hours per week. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts – day, swing, and graveyard – 7 days a week – including holidays. The Position: The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking a dependable, skilled, top-performing and team oriented individual to serve as a HVAC Technician for the Facilities and Maintenance Department. The successful candidate for this position will perform skilled journey-level mechanical maintenance and repair work of HVAC equipment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installing, repairing and altering air conditioners, refrigeration units, computer control energy systems, boilers, circulation pumps, low pressure chillers, absorption units, cooling towers and other commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and systems.
- Inspecting, diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC equipment and systems.
- Estimating supplies, materials and costs of repair projects.
- Maintaining manual and computerized records.
- Inspecting buildings and equipment to locate needed repairs and maintenance.
- Operating Computerized Building Management Systems by setting time schedules, heat/cool settings and pump operation.
- Monitoring and testing chemical conditions in open and closed loops and cooling towers; correcting improper levels by adjusting controllers or adding treatment chemicals.
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools in the performance of assigned duties including the use of refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pump, voltmeter, ohm meter, manifold gauge, gas welding and soldering equipment.
- Participating in snow removal by keeping the landside roads, parking areas, ramps and walkways clear through the use of snowplows, sweepers, blowers and hand shovels.
- Assisting fellow technicians and maintenance workers in a broad scope of Airport repairs.
This position is FLSA non-exempt, which means it is eligible for overtime.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years journey-level HVAC experience in an industrial/commercial environment. This must include experience working with air conditioning, heating, pumps, VFDs, DDCs, chillers, boilers, motors and related industrial plant subsystems maintenance. Residential HVAC experience will not be considered as qualifying experience.
- High School diploma or GED
- Universal CFC certification at the time of application
- A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION WILL ALSO HAVE:
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and tools used in building construction and maintenance services.
- Ability to perform a full range of skilled plant operation, air conditioning, heating and related maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties under minimal supervision.
- Experience in general building maintenance and other trades such as plumbing, welding and electrical.
- Experience using a Computerized Building Management System such as JCI Metasys or Delta systems.
- Ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the performance of their duties.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a positive attitude.
